Menominee County is situated along Lake Michigan and adjacent to Wisconsin; with Marinette, Wisconsin just across the brige connecting the two communities.  The County offers access via highways, water, rail, and air to markets across the country.   A stong and diverse manufacturing base in the city of Menominee takes advantage of the port facilities at the mouth of the Menominee River, as well as other transportation facilities.   Agriculture is a significant land use in the county also.  Most industrial operations are concentrated in Menominee, but others are located in communities throughout the county.   The service sector, including tourism, also offers significant employment opportunities.  Outdoor recreational opportunities abound throughout the county as well.   Other facts / features include:
